Darryl Zero–née Alfred Darryl Moton–is a father, writer, and musician. Raised on the campus of Iowa State University, but also having lived in Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii, he is currently a Ph.D student in English at the University of Iowa.
Darryl’s primary academic foci are identity formation among multi-ethnic Black US-Americans, post-Marxist dialectical literary criticism, and the intersections between fictional genre and political dogma. He is currently at work on an article on former U.S. Vice President Henry Agard Wallace.
Darryl currently lives in Iowa City, Iowa with his two children and partner.
